Privacy policy
Last updated November 7, 2026
This policy explains what information Trot Health ("we", "us") collects when you visit our website, take our quiz, subscribe to our emails or buy from us, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email us at gettrothealth@gmail.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us. This includes your quiz answers about your dog (name, breed, weight, age, activity level, health changes you've noticed, food, allergies, your goal, and how you heard about us), your email address, photos of your dog that you choose to upload, and messages you send us. When you order, our store and payment providers collect your name, shipping and billing address, phone number and payment details. We don't see or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically. When you use our site, we and our hosting and store providers automatically receive basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages you view, the site that referred you and the date and time of your visit. Some of this is collected with cookies and similar technologies, described below.
How we use your information
- To recommend a formula and dose for your dog, and explain why.
- To process and ship your orders, run your subscription, and provide customer service.
- To send messages about your order, such as confirmations, shipping updates, renewal reminders and changes to your plan.
- To send marketing emails, such as tips for your dog and offers, if you sign up. You can unsubscribe anytime with the link in any email.
- To feature your dog's photo on our website or social media, but only if you check the box giving us permission.
- To keep our site working, understand how it's used, improve our quiz and products, prevent fraud, and meet our legal obligations.
How we share your information
We share personal information only as described here:
- Service providers that work on our behalf and may only use it to provide services to us. These include our online store and payment processors, email service, website hosting, customer support tools, shipping carriers, and the partners who pack and ship your order.
- Legal and safety reasons, when required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our customers, our business or others.
- Business changes, such as a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We also don't share personal information with other companies for their own direct marketing.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies that are needed for our site and checkout to work, such as remembering your cart, and to understand in general how visitors use our site. We don't currently use advertising cookies or let advertising networks track you on our site, and we don't allow other companies to collect information about your activity across different websites through our site. If that changes, we'll update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site, like checkout, may not work without them. Browsers' "Do Not Track" signals don't have a common standard, so our site doesn't respond to them. We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time with the link in any email or by contacting us. We'll still send messages about orders and subscriptions you have with us.
Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Virginia and other states with privacy laws, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we have about you, and get a copy of it;
- correct information that's inaccurate;
- delete your personal information;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, or its use for targeted advertising (we don't do these today);
- appeal if we deny your request.
We offer these choices to all of our US customers, wherever they live. To make a request, email gettrothealth@gmail.com with the subject "Privacy request." We'll confirm your identity by matching information we already have, such as your email and order details, and respond within 45 days. You can use an authorized agent to make a request for you. We won't treat you differently for using your privacy rights.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. That means we keep account and subscription information while you're a customer, order records as long as tax and accounting laws require, marketing information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and dog photos until you ask us to remove them.
How we protect information
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, and payments are handled by payment processors that meet industry security standards. No website or system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our site is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Where we operate
Trot Health is based in California, and our site is intended for customers in the United States. Your information is stored and processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version here and change the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we'll also let you know by email or with a notice on our site.
